We use different mediums and approaches to accomplish the group goals.

Art and expressive Therapies Group Program:  

  • Main therapy medium tool is art and craft, we also use other expressive mediums like dance and movement, psychodrama and music. 
  • Level of structure: Medium


Free Play Therapy Program: 

  • Main therapy medium tool is spontaneity and free play. 
  • Structure level: Low


Bricks Building 'Lego' Therapy Group Program:

  • Main therapy medium tool is Lego and building bricks. 
  • Structure level: High


Music Therapy Group Program:

  •  Main therapy medium tool is Music, playing instruments and songwriting. Structure level: Medium


Cooking Group Program:

  • Main medium tool is cooking. 
  • Structure level: High


Yoga and Mindfulness Group Program:

  • Structure level: High

  • Main therapy medium tool is talking and dynamics. We can also use a variety of different mediums depending of the topic to work.

Everyone is welcome into the groups to achieve their personal goals and individual needs. 


All groups are inclusive for all types of functional diversity. We learn from one another, and create a better world. 


The groups are designed for neurodiverse, neurotypical and functional diverse children/adolescents and adults wanting to improve and support in:


  • Self regulation
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Attentional Skills
  • Making and maintaining friends
  • Conversation skills and clear and assertive communication
  • Recognising emotions in themselves and/or in others
  •  Expressing emotions, opinions and ideas in an assertive way

How are the groups formed, organised and managed?

How are the groups formed, organised and managed?

How are the groups formed, organised and managed?


  • All groups are inclusive for all types of functional diversity. We learn from one another, and create a better world. 
  • Groups of 2-3 children are formed by one lead therapist. 
  • Groups of 4-8 children are formed by the lead therapist and a co-therapist 
  • Groups run for a minimum of 1 term and can be running for 1 or more years. 


Step 1: Client contact Ikigai seeds by completing the intake form 


Step 2: Therapist contact the client to make initial appointment and send the initial assessment forms and paper work for before first session. 


Step 3:

Adult client or parents make an initial appointment with the lead therapist for approximately 1h to:

  • create a confortable, safety and collaborative relationship between client and therapist. Getting to know one another.
  • do initial assessment
  • know the clinical history, family, school, development, relationships, skills.
  • know likes, dislikes, personality, behaviours, emotions
  • know straights and main goals
  • know the program and ask any doubts or questions about it
  • have everyone involved (family, school, clinic, client)
  • create the best fit group for the client.
  • and for safety reasons: know if there is any trauma, allergies, medical issue, phobias, sensory issues, stress... to put in place a safety plan.


Step 4: 

If the client is a child or adolescent, lead therapist make a 30 min appointment with the child for pre group assessment to...


  • Establish first contact and connexion between child/adolescent and lead therapist to get to know one another. 
  • Assess child/adolescent in different skills to find the group that best fits the client.
  • Know the space and allow the child/adolescent to ask any questions and doubts to make them feel in a safe space. 
  • Reduce anxiety before starting the actual group. 


Step 3: Lead therapist and therapist create the different groups and therapeutic plan to achieve the client's goals. 


Step 4:  Payments are always at the begging of each term or holiday program


Step 5: Start the group program 

  • 1h to 1:30h fortnightly for in-term groups
  • 1h to 1:30h everyday for a whole week for holiday programs. 


Step 6: End of session or end of group program.

  • At the end of each session therapist give some feedback, recommendations and practices to do at home. 
  • At the end of term we do a review of the goals and adjust anything we need to adjust. 
  • At the end of year we give a certificate and we can do a report with the summary of the program, feedback and further recommendations for school and family (at therapist hour rate).

Each group is designed to:


  • Support client's need for their unique situation.
  • Give the latest scientific information about psycho-education and neuroscience about different topics related to the client's needs and specific goals. 
  • Provide a safe environment and guide to express emotions, and practice and gain new social and emotional skills.
  • Develop positive coping strategies and problem solving strategies.
  • Promote self knowledge to understand ourselves and others better.
  • Promote empowerment, straights and self talk to reach maximal human potential.
  • Develop assertive communication and healthy interactions and connections with others. 
  • Create new opportunities to explore themselves, relearn and heal.  
  • Improve and gain new social, emotional awareness and self-regulation skills.
  • Offer different cooperation experiences with plenty of sensory-motor and play activities.
  • Improve the interpersonal and psychosocial functioning of individuals with social challenges.
  • Promote empathy as a result of enhanced social cognitive and emotional abilities.
  • Understand and enjoy social interactions. 
  • Increase resilience and learn strategies for bulling and other social challenges.
  • Increase flexibility, empathy, compassion and respect for others, specially when having different ideas and opinions. 
  • Improve the quality of friendships and relationships.
